Healing from the Source
My Background

I have been working in the field of health and healing for over 40 years beginning in my early 20's.
Whichever modality I am working from, my aim is to provide a holistic approach to working with others. I have a particular interest in embodiment through body awareness and movement as a way to attune with natural rhythms and cycles, both those within us and in relationship with nature.
To give you a sense of my journey:
I initially trained at the School of Homeopathy which I began in 1984. I have practiced ever since though in a limited way in recent years.
A love of movement and a need to be more connected to my body led me to study with Sandra Reeve and subsequently trained with her to teach 'Move into Life'. I also studied and apprenticed with Suprapto Suryodarmo in Java and the UK. Both of these teachers have been inspirational for me and my past studies with them continue to inform my work.
I begun teaching under the name of 'Healing Movement' in 1996 in the context of workshops, individual sessions and ongoing groups that I called Opening to Your Wild Body.
To support this work, in 2000 I did the Introduction to psychotherapy course at the Karuna Institute. After a 14 year 'mothering break' I continued to complete the MA in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy and am registered with UKCP as a psychotherapist and supervisor.
Between 2002-2004 I facilitated a weekly group at Harmony Rehabilitation Centre for adults with addictions.
Since 1997 my husband, Rob, and I have co-facilitated meditation and movement retreats in Tibetan Buddhism.
In 2002 I begun working with Ruth Noble, a psychodynamic psychotherapist and movement healer, who supported me as I begun to take my practice more in the direction of therapeutic healing. In 2009 I completed training with her in "Rhythmic Healing', which has deeply influenced how I work.
A dream gave me the awareness that I needed to study Plant Spirit Medicine with Eliot Cowan, a Tsaurirrikame (elder shaman) in the Mexican Huichol Tradition. This practice has changed my relationship to nature and opened many doors in my life. I have practiced Plant Spirit Medicine since qualifying in 2005. I was a clinical consultant for the Plant Spirit Medicine Seminary and completed training to teach Plant Spirit Medicine with Eliot in 2020.
I hope that the learning and wisdom from all the above teachings is communicated through my work with clients and students. The common thread is a relationship to 'Source' which holds me in a greater field of awareness, as well as helping to facilitating that in others.
My practice of Tibetan Tantric Meditation is a great support to all that I do in my work and life. My journey as a wife and as a mother to two lovely young men brings many joys while challenging all that I think I know!
